Mediabask becomes a co-operative. The 24/7 news service dedicated to the Basque country has transformed its charter to General Interest Cooperative Society (Société coopérative d’intérêt collectif – Scic) on july, 8. Mediabask was created in 2015 as an association by a group of former journalists of the “Journal du Pays Basque”.
Today the co-operative has 217 members and 20 hired workers. It publishes the weekly magazine of the same name and writes the articles for two websites (mediabask.eus and kazeta.eus) that score more than 3 million visits every year.
