Co-op Uk cuts £70m costs for its members

UK’s convenience retailer Co-op is launching a major price cut for its members on almost 200 everyday items that they buy frequently. The convenience retailer says this is the largest price investment of its kind and it will help millions of customers and members save up to 11 per cent on essential products. The Co-op also reduced the retail price on more than 600 lines to match or beat other convenience stores. The Co-op’s managing director said this is not a loyalty scheme but a way to reward its members who own the business. The investment has been made possible by the major cost savings and business improvements introduced over the past 12 months, the group said.
