The 2023 edition of World Cooperative Day will be celebrated across the globe on 1 July. Marked since 1923, this year’s celebration will be the 29th International Day of Cooperatives recognized by the United Nations and the 101th International Cooperative Day, also called #CoopsDay. Its purpose is to raise awareness about the autonomous associations of people who decide to unite in a conscious way in order to satisfy fundamental economic, social and cultural needs they share. To achieve this admittedly ambitious goal, individuals in cooperatives decide to establish a jointly owned enterprise that is democratically controlled and managed.
